Amanda,

You have a calm, happy demeanor and it's clear you enjoy being around dogs. That's the most basic thing clients should look for in a dog walker! (IMO, if people want pets to walk without pulling, then they have the responsibility to either purchase a halter that impedes that behavior or hire a dog trainer!) As the owner of a dog walking/pet sitting company in the DE, southeastern PA and DC Metro areas, I can see (and hear!) that you are trustworthy and do a great job. (It's not easy to walk several dogs together, and I think you do a really fine job!) You rates are quite reasonable, too! Kudos to you!!

OMG, all, dogs are just artificially fed predators,LOL. Watch out for those endangered pigeons! Looks like happy dogs with a happy dog walker that probably doesn't want any high maintenance, idealistic, neurotic owners anyway.

to Lois-Ann. With respect, you only saw a minute of this woman walking multiple dogs, so don't judge her abilities if the dogs weren't marching in military fashion. Anytime you have more than one dog on a walk they are not always going to be just walking in a straight line and in an orderly fashion. Since you didn't see the dogs running or pulling strongly, you can't judge how she can handle that type of situation. You can't expect a dog walker to have all clients with harnesses vs. collars. Out of control! How many dogs do you know that are trained to heel and do so on every walk? Lagging? Since the dogs are apparently out for a walk and to go to the bathroom, do you really expect they won't sniff around, stop at every opportunity, etc.? No offense, but be realistic.

I read the other comments and found the negative comments did not watch the video very well. You do a great job and am glad you are a part of the dog world. I am a K-9 Handler in Search and Rescue and from my observation, you are very knowledgable and professional.

Cristina LoCelso - Co-Owner of Tails A Waggin In-home Pet Care
We operate a dog walking/pet sitting business in the Western burbs of Chicago (Oak Park/River Forest areas specifically) www.tailsawaggin.net

We would like to say how much we loved your story.
Many people aren't aware or don't understand what the duties of a pet sitter are.

The "perks" of the job are obvious (getting kisses & snuggles from your fluffy & furry clients, being outdoors on nice days, etc)but there is also the great responsibility of pet sitting & caring for the animals under your care & how important it is for the pet guardian to really get good feedback or referrals (if possible) when looking for a competent care giver for their beloved pets.

We have been in business for 10 years now & can't think of any other job that would be as enjoyable, fulfilling, satisfying & fun as what we do on a daily basis.

If this is a "professional" dog walker she does a very poor job of walking dogs. The dogs are pulling her in all directions, tangled, lagging and generally out-of-control. Wearing inappropriate harnesses they could easily drag her off her feet if inclined to chase a squirrel or another dog. I would not trust my dog's safety with this individual.

What a fabulous podcast! She does a wonderful job, and it makes me feel good to see someone doing a great job that they love! Keep up the great work! You would be hired in a second if you were in my area!

Not hearing nor seeing it on the demo tape, we all hope you are conscientously picking up dog feces and making sure you are not interfering with threatened species, a la 'some dogs like to chase birds." Remember, all dogs are artificially-fed predators species.
