THAT WAS A BUNCH OF HORSE MANURE. 1ST THE OK STUFF YES REPLACE THE FILTERS MONTHLY AND HAVE THE DUCTS CLEANED EVERY COUPLE OF YEARS. - THE BULL. YOU DON’T NEED TO BUY A NEW FURNACE TO SAVE MONEY. IT WILL TAKE 5-10 YRS TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. WAIT TIL THE REPAIR PRICE JUSTIFIES A NEW FURNACE. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THE HIGHER THE EFFICIENCY, MORE TECHNOLOGY IS INVOLVED BRINGING UP THE PRICE OF PARTS AND THERE GOES THE REPAIR BILL. YOU ALSO NEED SPECIAL PARTS AND HIGHLY TRAINED REPAIR MEN. MY FURNACE IS A GAS CONVERTED PEERLESS. OVER 50 YRS OLD. ONLY NEEDED A FLANE SENSOR SOME YEARS AGO. THE OTHER ONE I OWN IS THE SAME. THE GAS VALVE WOULD NOT LET GAS FLOW SO I BOUGHT EVERYTHING FOR LESS THAN A HUNDRED DOLLARS. THE FUEL EFFICENCY IS JUST FINE AND I CAN GET THE WHOLE HOUSE ABOVE 90 DEGREES F. YOU SHOULD PUT SOMETHING IN ABOUT INSULATION. THE ATTIC, WALLS, AND DON’T FORGET THE WINDOWS AND DOORS.

PAYING MONEY EVERY YEAR FOR A CLEAN AND SWEEP IS A WASTE. NEXT TIME WATCH THE GUY AND LIST EVERY THING HE DOES. THE NEWER THE FURNCE THE LESS HE WILL DO. IF HE IS NOT LAZY HE MAY TAKE OUT THE HEAT EXCHANGER AND INSPECT FOR HOLES. OR MAY JUST PUT A CARBON MONOXIDE SENSOR OVER A DUCT. BY THE WAY EVERY HOUSE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST TWO, JUST LIKE SMOKE DETECTORS. ONE RIGHT ABOVE A DUCT CLOSE TO TH FURNACE AND ONE IN EVERY BEDROOM IN WHICH A PERSON SLEEPS. MOST NEW BLOWER MOTORS DO NOT NEED LUBRICATION. THEY NAY NEED CLEANED, ONLY IF YOU ARE A SLOB AND DON’T CLEAN YOUR HOUSE OR REPLACE THE FILTERS.
NEXT TIME JUST ASK WHAT DO THE REALLY DO, AND SEE IF IT IS BEING DONE.
I AM NOT AGAINST INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE BUT IT IS A BUNCH OF OVERSOLD HYPE. AND YOU JUST HELPED. I’VE WASTED ENOUGH OF MY TIME. THIS WILL JUST GO IN THE TRASH. JUST THINK REAL HARD NEXT TIME YOU TRY TO SELL SOMTHING.

For the gentleman above who doesnt beleive a new furnace can help. Most new high eff furnaces now have a 10 year parts and LABOR warranty included in the price. So, technology or not, no out of pocket for 10 years. As for energy savings, a new 95% gas furnace can pay for itself in 5 years or less in most cases. Old less efficiency furnaces use inside air for combustion, meaning it burns the inside air for combustion, newer furnaces use outside air for combustion, meaning less drafts around windows, doors etc.

Check into a new furnace and be surprised, it worth the free in home estimate.
